The Acquisition & What It Means

Speed Fibre Group — the parent company of Enet and Magnet+ — has completed the acquisition of BT Communications Ireland Limited (BT Ireland). This includes BT Ireland’s Irish-owned network assets and its customer base.

As part of this change:

  • Wholesale customers are now served by Enet.

  • Enterprise customers are now supported by Magnet+.

We are delighted to welcome former BT Ireland customers to Enet. Our priority is to ensure continuity of service, introduce you to our team, and build a strong, long-term partnership.

This integration is about scale, reach and capability. By bringing BT Ireland together with Enet and Magnet+, Speed Fibre Group is strengthening its position as Ireland’s leading independent telecoms infrastructure provider.

Enet’s national fibre network combined with BT’s footprint in Dublin brings our total network to nearly 10,000 km of fibre.
The combined business now connects more than 6,000 buildings across Ireland, including over 2,500 in Dublin.
Enet now stands as Ireland’s second largest wholesale telecoms operator.

This positions us to offer more choice, better value and faster service delivery for customers nationwide.

Yes, by combining networks, customers benefit from:

  • Greater national reach and capacity

  • Improved cost efficiency

  • Aligned product set

  • Automation and speed.

The acquisition completes on 31st August 2025. Following this, there will be a period of integration to align processes and optimise services. Customers will be kept informed of any changes in good time.

The BT brand will be phased out. All your communications, systems and materials will move to the Enet brand. This marks an important milestone in creating a stronger national alternative for wholesale customers in Ireland.

We’re excited about this next chapter. Our priority is continuity and delivering more value to you as a customer. We look forward to working with you, understanding your needs and building our future together.

Yes, while we are taking every precaution to ensure a secure and seamless transition, acquisitions can sometimes be exploited by cybercriminals attempting to impersonate legitimate communications.

To help protect yourself please keep the following in mind:

  • Only trust communications from official Enet or Magnet Plus email addresses.

  • We would never contact you by SMS text message about bank account changes.

  • Do not click on links or open attachments in unexpected emails claiming to be from Enet or Magnet Plus.

  • Do not act on any request to change bank account details without first verifying it with our billing team at billsupport@enet.ie.

If you suspect a phishing attempt or receive a suspicious message, please report it to us immediately at hello@enet.ie.

Billing & Payments
  • For September 2025, you will continue to receive bills as you do today. If you have both BT and Enet services, you will receive two separate invoices.

  • From October 2025, invoices for former BT services will transition to Enet branding and updated product names.
